New Xbox 360 Prices And Form Factors On The Way?

Steve Ballmer was recently at conference in the University Of Washington and it appears he accidently leaked out some information we probably weren’t meant to hear about some possible new form factors for the Xbox 360. In a transcript of the subsequent Q&A session, Steve is shown to have delivered the following statement on the topic of large-screen televisions and Microsoft’s related hardware strategy:
For that big screen device … there’s no diversity. You get exactly the Xboxes that we build for you. We may have more form factors in the …

YouTube Killing Support For IE6 From March 13th

At the beginning of the month I wrote up an article that Google were beginning to phase out support for the outdated Internet Explorer 6. Well in a further attempt to try and send the outdated browser to its grave, YouTube, which is owned by Google is pulling support for Internet Explorer 6 as of March 13th.
Support stops on March 13th. Stopped support essentially means that some future features on YouTube will be rolled out that won’t work in older browsers.

So you will still be able to watch videos on …

Windows Browser Ballot Screen Revealed

Remember a couple of months ago, leading up to the release of Windows 7, Microsoft and the EU weren’t getting on too well. All the taboo was basically over small browsers like Opera complaining that Microsoft had the upper hand in the browser industry because they shipped their own software with their own Operating System.
So because Microsoft ship Windows 7 with Internet Explorer set as the default browser, the EU saw this to be affecting competition in this market. So Microsoft came up with a simple solution, don’t ship Windows …

Windows Phone 7 Series

The whole world anticipated this release from Microsoft at this years Mobile Congress Event in Barcelona, almost as much as we were looking forward to the release of the iPad from Apple.
Ok, maybe we weren’t that eager to see what Microsoft would announce, but what they did announce came as a surprise to many of us, a pleasant surprise though. It’s very different from any version of Windows Mobile that’s come before it.

Firstly it supports full Multi touch! as well as being very finger friendly from what we’ve seen. This new operating …

Windows Mobile 7 Being Announced Monday Feb. 15

According to some reliable sources at the Wall Street Journal, Monday 15th February is the date we are expecting Windows Mobile 7 to be announced. This is also the date set for the Mobile World Congress meeting.
However we don’t know a lot about Microsoft’s latest Phone Operating System . The Journal’s sources only said, “The operating system sports a revamped user interface that resembles the look of Microsoft’s Zune HD music player and is designed for devices with touch-sensing screens.”
The Zune HD has one of the cleanest and user friendly …

What! Microsoft are pulling Xbox Live?! No! Not the online multiplayer action that millions of users use everyday!? Surely not!
Well don’t worry, you more than likely won’t be affected by this. But Microsoft are pulling Xbox Live, only it’s for the original Xbox console, not the Xbox 360. So now you can go and breath a sigh of relief.
On April 15, 2010, Microsoft plans to pull the plug on Xbox LIVE services for its original Xbox as well as online services for Xbox games playable on the Xbox 360. Microsoft’s …

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer Signs MacBook

Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft is known for his sense of humor and his sometimes rather crazy enthusiasm. Well the big man at Redmond was asked by a very brave student at Nashville to sign his Apple Mac Book.
Surprisingly Steve didn’t take the Mac Book and rip it apart in his big hands and then proceed to stamp on it till it burst into flames. No instead he politely took the Mac Book and signed his name, followed with the comment ” Need A New One? ”
And just in case you think …

Is Microsoft’s Bing Going To Replace Google On The iPhone

Last time I checked, Microsoft and Apple weren’t the best of friends, but now in a change of heart between the two companies they seem to be sitting down and trying to strike out a deal which would see Microsoft’s Bing.com become the default search engine for the iPhone/iPod.
According to BusinessWeek
Apple is in talks with Microsoft to replace Google as the default search engine on its iPhone, according to two people familiar with the matter. The talks have been under way for weeks, say the people, who asked not to …

Windows 7 has only been available for just over 2 months to the public, but Microsoft say it’s clear that Windows 7 is the fastest selling operating system in Windows history. The first week stats of the Windows 7 launch week already showed that Windows 7 was outselling Windows Vista at its time of release by 234%.
Windows 7 was also breaking records on Amazon just before its release and became the most popular pre-order product ever. But it is not only the first few days that Windows 7 performed well in …

Microsoft Lose Appeal – Office & Word Sales Banned From January 11

Microsoft’s court battle with i4i has been going on for some time now, since August the small Canadian company i4i has been a constant pain for Microsoft and now the US district court has sided with i4i. Microsoft will have to stop selling copies of Office and Word from 11 January, after its appeal against a patent infringement ruling failed.
In August 2009 the US district court ruled against Microsoft for infringing a patent from i4i in its 2003 and 2007 versions of Office and Word. Microsoft appealed the decision as expected but yesterday …
