How many times have you been in the store, browsing the latest game titles and looking at the minimum system specs on the back. Now I’m sure many of you don’t know your PC’s processor speed or your graphics chip model off the top of your head, but you’re fairly confident your machine should be able to run the latest Call Of Duty game and handle the latest Need For Speed without any problems.
Well more often than not you buy the game and come home to find that your minimum systems specs aren’t enough, or that it doesn’t play smoothly and you have to turn the graphics and effects right down to the bare minimum, running the whole gaming experience.
So what if you could check whether or not you could run a game before you bought it, and even better, if you could see how well it would perform on your machine, would you have to turn down the graphics or not?
Well there’s a great site call “Can You Run It?” which will do all that just for you.
Simply select the game title and click Can You Run It? and let it do it’s work.
Now you will more than likely have to enable the script to run on your machine, it’s just for security reasons that you’ll be asked to do this. I had no problem getting it to work on IE, but I couldn’t get Chrome to run it without crashing so if you can’t seem to get it working try a different browser.
It will then analyze your machine and check it out, then it will let you know whether or not you’ve passed the test to run the game, and how well your game should perform or what needs to be improved.
As you can see from the screenshot below my laptop is perfectly well able to run Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 without any problems.
It’s a handy little site, and really can save you the trouble of buying a game without knowing if you can actually play it, and a lot of the time, stores wont give you a refund because your machine isn’t able to run it.

excellent tool, however, the best to know if it’d work properly on your pc or not is to download the game demo, that will make final decision.
