Our Most Popular Browser Poll Results

For the last while now, here on Techinfo-4u, I’ve been running a poll which could be found in the sidebar. I asked you all what your primary web browser was.

We’ve had a large number of you respond, and now the results are in.

So despite what the current internet stats are, it seems like our readers here are quite the opposite.

In the overall web, Internet Explorer is leading on market share, but on our site only 11% of our readers use it as their primary browser. Mozilla Firefox is leading the way with 50% of our users voting it as their primary browser. In second place, my personal favorite Google Chrome with 30% of the market. Chrome is currently a lot lower in the overall world market share, but it seems our readers are leading the way with Chrome.

Opera and Safari really weren’t used by many of our readers at all, it’s quite clear from this that Firefox, Chrome and IE are the main players in the browser market. And since our readers are always at the cutting edge of technology, I’d expect to see Firefox and Chrome gaining a lot of market share over the next couple of months and years as you guys are leading the way

So that’s it for another poll, be sure to try out our next one,

What’s your Smartphone OS?

I though Firefox was winning all the way in the real world scenario too not just this poll

  2. Robert says:

Nope, Firefox is only in second place with approx 30% of the market, IE is way in front with over 50% of the market while chrome is yet to break 10%

I think that the majority of net users still do not know much about what they are doing which is why you will find IE to still be on top. However with more and more people learning that there are in fact other browsers out there and that these browsers are far better than IE it will not be too long until FireFox and Chrome take over unless Microsoft do something to make IE as good as the others.
