As I said previously in my Alan wake review I was going to do a review on this as soon as I got to grips with the game and having played it for a good few days now I think I am in a good position to finally do
just that.

The graphics on this game are pretty awesome and Rockstar have really managed to capture the Wild West and its best or worse, it depends on how you see it really. The character models look great but it is the scenery that really blows me away every single time I look at it.

Gameplay is absolutely fantastic and in my opinion there is nothing better than lassoing the legs of someone running from you, tying them up and sticking them on the back of your horse to take to a sheriff. The guns are great fun to mess about with and because the AI reacts on where you shoot them on the body you can do things like shoot weapons
out of their hands and shoot them in the legs to topple them over when they are on the run from you.

Multiplayer is very good indeed with a few bugs being shown in the first couple of days thanks to pressured servers but it seems this has been sorted now. I was playing online with one of my friends when we discovered a fort that had cannons that can be used which was pretty awesome. I won’t reveal where about it is on the map because everyone
will head there but I will say we held it against everyone else and the AI law enforcement so it’s a very strong base indeed.

The one problem that I have found with this game is that it actually plays a lot like GTA without cars and set in a different location. In fact it pretty much is just GTA set in the Wild West and whilst this isn’t a downfall to me it’s perhaps a bit annoying.

Once this game has been completed there are still plenty of things to do such as complete all of the challenges and hunt down wanted criminals and the online modes provide hours of additional fun.

DLC to this game has already been confirmed and Rockstar have announced that it is going to contain six cooperative missions which is great news as it is about time the single player of a Rockstar game
was made co-op.

All in all I would say this game is fantastic but it is not good enough in my eyes to take on the score of GTA simply because it is so much like it, so overall a 9/10 I feel.
