Regular readers of my site will know that I’m not exactly the biggest fan of the iPad, but still I am impressed. It took Apple just 28 days to ship 1 Million iPads said Steve Jobs on Monday. That’s fairly impressive sales figures, and considering this thing hasn’t gone international yet, it seems has Apple struck on something here.
“One million iPads in 28 days-that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,”
Said a very pleased Steve Jobs
“Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.”
And it’s not only physical sales figures that are boding well for Apple. Steve says iPad users have downloaded more than 12 million apps for the device and that over 5,000 apps have been created for the iPad (even though the device can also run most of the 200,000-plus apps already on the App Store as well).
It was also estimated that 300,000 iPads were sold on the opening weekend for sales as well. Apple are really doing well these days, they just got news that the iPhone has become the top selling phone in the United States as well, and I guess you could say they have the top selling Tablet device, but then again that wouldn’t hard.
