The Most Played Games Over Xbox Live

Ryan is an internet marketer working for a company that sell air conditioners . Although he has a PS3 he spends the majority of his online gaming time on Xbox Live.

Online gaming has become ever more popular over the last few years with many developers dropping the same couch option and choosing to focus more on the online multiplayer. Whilst I think that sitting on the sofa playing video games with buddies is a far better option than online play, I will say that I take part in online gaming on a regular basis. Here are some of the most played games on Xbox Live at the moment.

Modern Warfare 2

This one has to be up there near the top and I think has hit the number one spot a couple of times this year. This game is a fantastic game to play online but the main problem that I am starting to see is that most of the Call of Duty games are essentially the same with very minor graphic tweaks occurring. For this reason it is not on the top of my personal list as I didn’t spot major differences in terms of gameplay from the first Modern Warfare.

Gears Of War 2

The first Gears was the game that tore my life to pieces because of all of the hours I spent on it and the second has done the same for me. After recently earning the achievement of playing over 1999 multiplayer games it is safe to say Gears of War has taken up more time than my girlfriend! In terms of mass online play it would see Gears is always held up in the top 5 slot and it isn’t hard to see why.

I am glad that this one comes in at around six overall and this is because it deserves to be in the top ten. The reason for this is because it is completely different to most of the online games people are so used to playing. You essentially have the entire city to fool around in and it comes complete with guns, cars, boats, helicopters and parachutes. Fantastic online gaming if you are not into your serious play.

Halo 3

This one for me remains at the top when it comes to time spent playing and by the looks of things in the eyes of the masses it remains number 1. The great thing about Halo is that if you want to play seriously you can get into the lone wolves or competitive team slayer playlists but it is also out there for the gamers that want a bit of fun with the big team battles and rocket race playlists. I cannot see halo leaving the number one spot anytime soon with the release of the Halo Reach beta and the actual game later this year I can see it taking on the new Call of Duty with ease.

The One To Look Out For

Red Dead Redemption

This is an upcoming western by Rockstar games (GTA series) and I have to say the game is looking fantastic. Online play looks like GTA in the Wild West set with horses, lasso’s and yes even trains! The game is out in the latter part of May so make sure you check it out, Rockstar are not going to disappoint on this one.
