Google seem to be very slow at rolling out the Nexus One to other carriers and countries, so slow in fact that HTC have had time to release the HTC Desire, which I now own, and the HTC Droid Incredible, both pretty much carbon copies of the Nexus One, only better.
Google had said Verizon would be getting the Nexus One soon, even on their own website, but today they decided to update it and kill all hope of the Nexus One ever coming to Verizon. Instead Google recommend you buy the HTC Droid Incredible instead!
The “Coming Soon” tag is now longer there, so you can pretty much bet on it that there is no Verizon Nexus One any time soon.
Then Google themselves even confirmed it in a statement to Engadget
We won’t be selling a Nexus One with Verizon, and this is a reflection of the amazing innovation happening across the open Android ecosystem. Verizon Wireless customers who want an Android phone with the power of the Nexus One can get the Droid Incredible by HTC.
Those of you who are in Europe, you can’t get the Droid Incredible, so I recommend the HTC Desire, it’s basically the Nexus One, but better, it’s got the Sense UI and more RAM and has physical buttons instead of those touch sensitive ones.
But if you still have your heart set on the Nexus One, Vodafone who are the official partners in Europe have announced it’s coming to their network on April 30th and you can pre order it from today.
Price plans are said to start from £25 a month on a 2 year contract, although you’ll need to opt to pay at least £35 per month over the same period if you want to snag it for free. All the tariffs come with 1GB of data and you will be able to use an additional 1GB when in premium BT Openzone hotspots throughout the UK.
But honestly Google, you should have been doing everything in your power to get the Nexus One out there as soon as it was announced, and before the HTC Desire came in and obliterated the Nexus One to our distant memories.

Why would they want to go backwards when they are trying to move forward to a 4G network? And from what I’ve seen, AT&T’s network is pretty limited in the area it can cover. I couldn’t consider them because they simply didn’t reach out to the areas I needed them to reach with even their voice network. The options were Verizon, Alltel, and U.S. Cellular.
