Back in the day, you could almost measure a sites success by simply checking its Google PageRank, but now there’s not as much emphasises on it as there was in the good ol’ days. But don’t be mistaken, it’s still important and many site owners still regularly judge the success of their site based on their PageRank more than anything.
It’s not always that easy to find out your Google PageRank so I’m going to give you a couple of options which you can use to find out what a sites PageRank is;
1. Google Toolbar – If your using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, the easiest way to check a sites PageRank is to install the Google Toolbar and this will not only add the handy Google Toolbar with it’s search bar but also a Google PageRank icon which automatically changes and updates as you navigate from site to site.
2. If you dont use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and instead use Google Chrome like I do. With the recent versions of Google Chrome, they’ve added support for extensions and add ons, much like in Firefox. I use a great little extension called PageRank Display. Simply install this extension for Google Chrome and you will have the PageRank icon in your toolbar in seconds. This will display the webpages PageRank as you navigate around the web.
3. And finally, if you just want to check out a particular site or if you want to find out all the PageRanks for the pages on your site you can go to Internal Rank.com. It’s simple to use, you simply just enter in your site into the address bar and it will crawl your site and give you a list of all the PageRanks of each page on your site.
You’ll find that new pages are not considered in the search as they haven’t had a chance for Google to crawl them and assign a PageRank. The site allows you to check the PageRank of up to 10 different sites a day.
So there you go, that’s how you can check a sites PageRank
