I do believe it was just the other day that I wrote an article saying that there was new MacBooks Pro’s coming very very soon, a rumoured date was April 13th and would you look at that, Apple went and released new verisons of the 13,15 and 17 inch MacBook Pro!
Apple Fanboys must have been jumping with joy when the Apple store went down for maintenance earlier today and when it was back up i’m sure they weren’t dissapointed. Apple released new MacBook Pro’s and yes they have finally decided to adopt the Intel Core i5 and i7 chips that are making headlines in all other notebooks at this very moment in time.
Apple haven’t updated their MacBooks Pro’s since June 2009 and since then hardware has really advanced, especially processors, the Core i5 and i7′s are leaders at the moment with improved performance and better battery life.
No physical changes on the outside have occurred, Apple are keeping the current look, and no, they didn’t go all out and add HDMI output support either.
Apple have decided to stick with the Intel Core 2 Duo for its 13-inch MacBook Pro, they’ve bumped up the processor though. Apple are also boasting an impressive 10 hours battery life as well. The cheapest starts of at $1,199

- 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo
- 4GB RAM (upgradable to 8GB)
- 250GB/320GB hard drive (upgradable to 500GB 5,400rpm hard drive or up to 512GB SSD)
- Nvidia GeForce 320M graphics
The 15-inch models have been finally updated with the Core i5 and Core i7 at long last and starts off at $1,799

- 4GB of RAM (upgradable to 8GB for an extra $400)

- 1,400×900-pixel glossy display (upgradable to 1,680×1,050 pixels for an extra $100, and antiglare for an extra $50)
- Nvidia GeForce GT 330M with 256MB of memory, using automatic graphics switching (512MB memory in highest-end Core i7 configuration)
- Preset configurations are $1,799 for 2.4GHz Core i5/4GB RAM/320GB HDD; $1,999 for 2.53GHz Core i5/4GB RAM/500GB HDD; $2,199 for 2.66GHz Core i7/4GB RAM/500GB HDD
And finally the big Daddy, the 17 inch model is now claiming a very impressive 8-9 hours battery life with the i5 and i7 processors, the starting price is $2,299
