Some of you may not even care about this and probably are wondering why I’m even posting this. Well the reason is there was a lot of concerned gamers out there a couple of days ago who didn’t exactly have the biggest living rooms on the planet.
A few days ago, apparently Microsoft told a group of journalists that you’re going to need a fair bit of space to manoeuvre about it to use Project Natal. This fair bita space you’re looking at is an area of at least 4 metres (13 feet) between you and the TV for it all to work smoothly. That’s a fair distance and you could find yourself with your back up against the wall trying to play and no room for a sofa!
Immediately many flat and apartment owners were dismayed as understandably they only have a limited amount of space available to them. Apparently the average size of a room in the UK is less than 4X4 meters which wouldn’t really be big enough to accommodate to needs of Project Natal, and don’t even think of having a four player party.
But now gamers can all breath a sigh of relief because Microsoft have now said that Project Natal will not take up as much space as previously mentioned.
“The comments recently about the play space for ‘Project Natal’ were misinterpreted.
“It is true that the ‘Project Natal’ sensor reads the configuration of your room and adjusts play space, as appropriate. We know that living rooms come in all shapes and sizes, and have conducted numerous play tests to ensure everyone will be able to jump off the couch and into the fun when ‘Project Natal’ launches globally this holiday.”
So it looks we will be ok in the end after all
