According to some reliable sources at the Wall Street Journal, Monday 15th February is the date we are expecting Windows Mobile 7 to be announced. This is also the date set for the Mobile World Congress meeting.
However we don’t know a lot about Microsoft’s latest Phone Operating System . The Journal’s sources only said, “The operating system sports a revamped user interface that resembles the look of Microsoft’s Zune HD music player and is designed for devices with touch-sensing screens.”
The Zune HD has one of the cleanest and user friendly UI’s on a portable device at the moment. A ” Zune like Phone” certainly would be nice.
This statement confirms several rumors that have been floating around on the web for a while about the new Windows Mobile 7 software. Microsoft have been looking to essentially redesign Windows Mobile and make it stand out so it can compete with the likes of Apple, Android and RIM.
Steve Ballmer himself will be giving a presentation during the Mobile World Congress Meeting press conference, which is scheduled for 3 PM CET, Monday, Feb. 15.
So Microsoft must be planning something big if it demands the CEO of the worlds largest Software company
