Google has kicked off its very own Doodle For Google competition for the 3rd year in a row. A nationwide art contest for students in grades K-12. Google are looking for students to design a Doodle for the Google homepage. Students can submit their own “Google Doodles,” and the winning Doodle will appear on Google’s homepage for one day. What’s more, the winner and his or her school will receive money and scholarships.

The theme for this year’s Google For Doodle competition is “If I Could Do Anything, I Would …” Google are hoping to encourage kids to be imaginative and push their imaginations to the limit and beyond.

The official Doodle 4 Google website has all the details on how to enter the competition. Just remember that you can only enter if your school has registered with Google so make sure you talk with your school and get registered to get in on the action.

The deadline for school registrations is March 17, 2010, and the deadline for Doodle submissions is March 31, 2010.

This year, a group of “Expert Jurors“, well-known illustrators, cartoonists and animators from organizations like The Sesame Street Workshop, Dr. Seuss Enterprises, The Charles Shulz/Peanuts Museum and Pixar Animation Studios, will be helping to select the 40 finalist doodles as well as attending the awards ceremony to personally meet the winners.

The winning Doodle for Google will be displayed on the 27th May 2010. So what are you waiting for!? Get Doodling!
