Sky TV in the UK have said that they will be offering 3D Premier League Football matches by “Mid 2010″. The 3D football matches will be achieved using two HD cameras to record wide shot angles. Then for close ups, normally 2D cameras will be used.
If your already a Sky HD user, then your nearly there in terms of kit. The Sky box and satellite dish won’t be changing. The only problem is, that big new 1080p HD TV you just bought will have to be updated yet again! 3D TV’s require a whole new range of technology and are currently not widely available so Sky must be betting on a huge explosion in the 3D TV market. You will probably also need to find yourself a pair of 3D glasses.
So what do you think, will 3D TV ever catch on? Let us know in the comments
