Yes that’s right, Tesco in the UK are going to have the iPhone available for sale before Christmas. Tesco mobile, which uses the O2 network has announced that it will be the latest carrier to have the iPhone. They will have both the 3G and 3GS models and more importantly they will be available before Christmas, which beats Vodafone to the mark, who aren’t getting it until next January. What’s more they will be available on Contract and Pay As You Go.
The good news for consumers, in the UK at least is that this could finally spark off the price war they’ve been waiting for after Orange recently got the iPhone on their network. Tesco have said they want to be as competitive as possible but we are still waiting to hear what their price plans will be. They already have a £30 a month plan that offers unlimited calls, text and data which is much better than Oranges plans.
They haven’t announced when the iPhone will be available, but it will be before Christmas. It will be available to pick up in store and online, and they have a page on their site where you can register your interest.
So what do you think, will this spark off the pricing war UK consumers have been waiting for? Let us know in the comments
