21 November 2009 Comments

MS_Office_2010_beta_logoAs we had anticipated, Microsoft have released a public Beta preview of the new Microsoft Office 2010 edition. You can download your own copy from Microsoft’s website here.

Microsoft have published a list of what’s new in this latest edition of Microsoft Office. But what stands out the most is the new social networking feature which allows you to bring in contacts from Windows Live and other social networking sites. For the moment though Linked In is the only that supports it. But a development kit is available for others to do so.

“I hope that you will all download it,” Microsoft senior vice president Kurt DelBene said at Microsoft’s Professional Developers Conference in L.A

Another nice new feature is the web apps. These allow you to access all your documents, spreadsheets and presentations anywhere with an internet connection, it works very like Google Docs.

Office 2010 is due to be officially released in the first half of next year
