Google seems to have an answer for everything these days ( no pun intended ) but now it has even more to offer. Most of you may be familiar with Google Maps, well now Google has incorporated a Flu Vaccine feature into it.
This new flu feature makes it easier to determine the location and availability of the vaccine. Google have partnered with “the U.S. Department for Health and Human Services, their Flu.gov collaborators, and the American Lung Association on the flu shot finder,” in order to provide the information.
On the Flu Shot page users can simply enter their Zip Code or search for a town or city. Unfortunately this feature is only available in the US at the moment. Google have also said that they are yet to receive information from more vaccine centers so it’s not 100% accurate. However Google are working with Centers for Disease Control, state and local health agencies, and other organizations to try and get more information and location information for the vaccine. At the moment they have received information for 20 states and are constantly expanding.
So Google doing their bit to help the spread of Flu and Swine Flu – Good for you Google :-)
