Google seems to be in the mood for spending some more money again and made the news today after it was announced that it was to acquire the mobile advertisement company AdMob for $750 Million.google_logo_5

AdMob has become one of the largest online advertisers and it is the leader when it comes to advertising on mobile devices. I regularly see advertisements in apps that I get from the App Store on my iPod that are from AdMob as well as in a few other places.

This will really give Google a boost up into the mobile advertising market which is rapidly growing and I’m sure Google are interested in becoming a main player in this area.

AdMob was founded in 2006 and the company has been running it’s own mobile advertising network since then and delivers adverts from the likes of Coca Cola and Ford, so by no means is this a small player. Representatives from Google and AdMob are expected to meet to talk about the deal in greater detail but they have said that this is a “friendly take over”, as both companies had agreed in an earlier press release.

I guess the economy is not bad for Google. $750 million is hard to imagine.
