The Nintendo DSi was released earlier this year and rumors of a possible larger model have recently emerged. Well today Nintendo confirmed those rumors and have announced a new 4.25-inch dual screen model. It is the same as the existing DSi, but has slightly larger screens.
It will be known as the DSi LL in Japan and the DSi XL in Europe, no plans has been announced for release in the US as yet. It will go on sale in Japan on 21 November for 20,000 yen ( $220 ) and is set to be released in Europe in the first quarter next year.
I’m not sure I would go mad for one of these, I don’t even own a DSi to start off, would any of you guys be interested in a supersized DSi? Let us know in the comments.
This news comes from Nintendo after they recently announced that their earnings for this year have been halved compared to last year, and sales of the Nintendo Wii have been much slower than anticipated.
Update:
It has now been announced that the DSiXL will be coming to the states in the first quarter of 2010
