The iPhone’s reign of exclusivity with O2 in the UK & Ireland is rapidly coming to an end. The Guardian recently announced that Orange is going to be offering the iPhone 3GS ( and 3G ) in its stores from the 10th November. O2 loses it’s 2 year exclusivity on the 9th November so they are wasting no time in taking advantage of this opportunity.
Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u are expected to stock the iPhone on behalf of Orange as well and don’t forget that the iPhone is also coming to Vodafone early in 2010 to the UK & Ireland. While many people think that having more than one carrier of the iPhone will bring down prices for price plans, it doesn’t seem so at the moment. Orange are saying that they are focusing on bringing more value to the iPhone in terms of included accessories. Not what we want, maybe when Vodafone come on board they can bring something we want, ie. cheaper price plans. The CEO of 3 has also expressed an interest in carrying the iPhone as well, and as far as consumers are concerned, the more the merry!
