The first few images of Google’s new OS, Google Chrome may finally have been leaked.

Over the last few days, Connected Internet have seen what may possibly be the first few leaked images of Google’s new Chrome OS. These images are still show us a very rough and basic operating system with one that still seems to need a lot of polishing up to be done.

Google’s new OS is set to be mainly for the net book market originally when it’s released and is set to challenge the likes of Microsoft and Apple, not to mention linux.

Looking at these first few screenshots I am reminded of a Linux/Windows interface with the multiple desktops and standard start menu and desktop icons.

Please remember that these are not confirmed images and have no actual Google branding on them, just the Chrome name and logo.

These are just a few of the images posted on Connected Internet, Click here to see their post and the rest of the images

Something is in the making for sure at Google Headquarters. I am pretty sure the Chrome OS will be public in 2010 or early 2011.
From the screenshot you have the courtesy to share, I can see that taskbar needs more polishing: the volume control and the date should not take that much space.
It's always a good idea as far as the User Interface is concerned, to take inspirations from current popular OS
